Aerial assault on Loire bridges. This aerial reconnaissance picture shows one of the damaged bridges over the Loire River put out of action by Ninth U.s. Air Force fighter-bombers and medium and light bombers before and after the Allied landings June 6, 1944. Damage to bridges across the Loire, which runs from the Covernnes Mountains through Nantes to the Bay of Biscay, is seriously hampering Nazi troop and supply movements.
