Two Russians liberated by U.S. drive.
1945
Two Russians liberated by U.S. drive. A smiling Russian mother and her child walk past an American half-track parked in to the yard of an Allied displaced persons camp near Trier, Germany. The camp is located in the area where many Allied nationals were liberated from Nazi labor battalions by American troops. From the camp, they will be repatriated to their homelands. In the two weeks beginning March 5, 1945 Allied officials dealing with displaced persons handled approximately 23,000 liberated prisoners of the Nazis.
