'Nazi spy shot after military trial Richard Jarczyk, Nazi soldier who became a spy in civilian clothes, was executed April 23, 1945, after court trial by a military commission of the Seventh US Army. After he had discarded his uniform, Jarczyk, former member of a Volks Grenadier Division, approached US Army officials and offered his services in establising a civilian government in an occupied area of the Reich. US military authorities discovered his true role and he was brought to trail April 6, when he confessed special training for sabotage and espionage. The penalty was death by firing squad.
